Jesus now speaks Embera
Dear Family and Friends,
The Jesus film is now complete in the Embera language!! Chaz and Doug prepared the script over several months’time and the team from Cru (formerly Campus Crusade) spent several weeks recently in Panama to record the audio track.
Edgar Rodriguez (in orange shirt),leader of the team, working with Fle (Carlos Aji). A couple days ago Edgar wrote us this personal note:
“[It was] An awesome experience that God lined up so perfectly. My supervisor was amazed and said he has never seen a film dubbing done from start (in October) to finish so quickly and smoothly as this one. Doug was awesome, the location, the actors ….. just everything was a blessing. A tremendous gift for God to use us in Panama,it’s as if our time there and the relationships made while living in Panama were all for this specific project. Thanks to your years of hard work …JESUS speaks Embera!”

This weekend is an important time for prayer.
“We are excited about everything God is doing in Panama,as the Jesus film has been dubbed into the Embera language. God willing, this coming week [now] a team here in Orlando [from Campus Crusade] that evaluates the film’s effects and a group from the church in Minnesota that donated the funds for making the film will be arriving in Panama….[The premiere weekend events are as follows:]
-on March 17 the actual premiere will be shown at the Embera church in Felipillo
-on March 18 the film will be taken to the Embera community of Tusipono on the Chagres River. People from the nearby communities of Parara Puru and Llano Bonito will also be in attendance.
-on March 19 the film will be shown in San Juan de Pequení.
-on March 20 there may be a showing in the Piriatí area.”Please pray with us that many Emberas will come and learn about the life of Jesus and how they can know him personally. All of you who have prayed and supported us all these years are a part of this premiere as well!
